GUILD RECRUITMENT POLICY
English Speaking
This guild is an English speaking guild, which means there should be no other language used on the forums, on teamspeak or in-game. People who cannot speak English that well, can still join, as long as he or she can make himself understood. Having that said, people who cannot make themselves understood in the English language, should consider looking for another guild to join, as it is important for us and yourself, that we can communicate in the English language.
Rage Quitting
Hotheaded people who cannot stand to die a few times in a dungeon, or people who cannot take any form of constructive criticism from fellow guild members, should consider if they will be able to make it into our guild. Everyone can have a bad day or can get frustrated from certain things, but hotheads who like to rage quit when things tend to get a little tricky, are not of a great benefit to the guild and it's members. It can happen once for everyone, but if it occurs on multiple occasions and also for no appearant reason that somebody simply rage quits because the heat is getting too much for them, will be up the bench for voting by the team, to decide wether he or she can have a second chance.
Multi Guilds
We regret the fact that players can join multiple guilds in this game, with all of their characters. This just doesn't seem right to us, but we cannot change this fact. That is why we have created this rule to make sure everyone is actually a part of our guild, rather than being in multiple guilds. Upon applying to the Touch of Darkness, you state that you are only applying to our guild while not being a member of any other Guild Wars 2 guild. Ofcourse, if you have created one seperate character for a World vs World guild, that is not a problem, but we would like to be informed about this, so we can take this into account. Failure in doing so will result in your application being denied as it can result in an conflict of interest.
Forum Registrations
Every person who is applying for our guild, will need to make a new account on our forums. This is not only mandatory, but also needed as you cannot apply any other way. From each member is expected that he or she is up to date with the latest Guild News, as posted in the private Guild Forums. We also require people to vote on guild polls and reply on important matters, and we do encourage people to become active on the forums, to become a part of it and to help the guild and the forum activity grow.
Attitude
We expect every guild member to show a positive attitude when playing the game together but also offline when posting on the forums. Negativity reflects bad on everyone, which isn't beneficial to the atmosphere. We also expect that creative minds speak up, and talk to the rest of the guild when they have an idea on how to improve something, for example. Be positive, and creative, but do not lose your respect for one another.
Activity
During your trial period, which can last for days, weeks or even months, you will be monitored in everything that you do, or don't do. We will not be checking if you are online too much or too few, that's not what we're doing. But we will see if you are participating in events, organised by the guild, if you show some initiative, then you will come a long way in this guild, but if you stay inactive and not participate in anything, then we might deny your application rather than accepting it.
Disputes
If for whatever reason you are in conflict with one or more other people within the guild, please inform anyone that has the authority to resolve this, as soon as possible, and ofcourse try to resolve this yourself aswell. Fighting on the internet for any kind of reason is simply time and energy wasting for yourself, and the guild. Any conflicts that you may have with people outside the guild, should be resolved as soon as possible without representing the guild in a negative way. More information about representation is explained further down in this topic.
GUILD POLICY ENFORCEMENT
Representing
Each and every member of the Touch of Darkness, is representing the guild not only in-game, but also out of the game, on these forums and maybe also on other websites or forums. This means, that you need to follow a certain code of conduct, in order to represent the guild in a positive way, rather than a negative one. To fully help you understand what we mean by that, we have set up the following rules for everyone to follow. To some these may be obvious, and to others they may be new, but we still wish to share these rules with every member and potential members of the guild. So please read them in full, because these are very important to the guild, and also to you, if you wish to become part or remain active within the guild.
Just remember, there are two kinds of reputation. One of them is a good reputation, which is what we want to radiate to the public, and then there is something like negative reputation. Everyone knows that negative reputation spreads like a wildfire, and positive reputation takes months, if not years, to build. Every negative incident can slow down the process of building up a positive reputation. Please keep this in mind whenever and wherever you are representing us.
Foul Language
The classic number one rule. Watch your language, whatever you do, and wherever you post something. There might be children playing this game, not only in the guild, but also outside of the guild. So watch what you're saying within the guild chat and also in any of the other, public or party chats. The same goes for your language use on these forums and on our teamspeak channels, and also for any other website and/or forum you might be registered to, if you are representing us on those websites/forums.
Maturity
We strive to recruit mature players, regardless of their age. Someone who is 15 years old doesn't have to be an immature person. Maturity isn't always decided by age, and I've seen much younger people being much more mature than older people over the years. We cannot tell you in words how to behave and how to be mature, you are the one who knows if you are mature or not. If you know you can be very childish most of the time, then I suggest you think twice before applying to us, because you probably won't make it into the guild.
Cheating
Any form of cheating by a member of the guild will be considered to be equivalent to a resignation from the guild. Any use of exploits, hacks, bots or any other form that can be considered "cheating", will not be tolerated within this guild and will lead to an immediate ban from the guild once it comes to our attention. Buying gold from third party websites is also considered as cheating, and thus also not allowed within our guild.
Beggers
If you are looking to form a group with some guild members, but people are busy and thus not replying to your call in the guild chat, then please do not spam and beg for people to join your group. Sometimes it can occur that nobody is ready, and most of the time people are busy doing something already. This also includes begging for money, ingredients, items and power levelling. We do not help you level up, we will only help you with difficult events and we will craft items for you if you need them ofcourse, but we cannot reserve the time to help you level up from 0 to 80.
